The Hidden Cause Behind Feeling “Stuck” as a Busy Woman

Writer's picture: Deb GoodgeDeb Goodge

When you’re juggling career pursuits, family responsibilities, personal aspirations, and everything else, it’s easy to focus on the problems that feel most urgent.

Whether that may be…

“I don’t have enough time to work out”

“I feel exhausted by the end of the day”

“I’m constantly overwhelmed trying to balance and keep up with everything I’m managing”

These are all tough challenges that many busy women experience, but here’s the truth…

They’re all symptoms of the real problem, so what’s the deeper issue that’s actually happening?

This is exactly what we’re going to cover today in this week's blog, let’s dive in!

What’s actually happening?

Beneath the exhaustion you may be experiencing from juggling your responsibilities and overwhelm, and a lack of time to balance all of them, there’s actually a much deeper problem causing them.

Which is… A misalignment between your priorities, and boundaries, but also how and when you take care of yourself.

What do I mean by this?

Right now you’re more than likely…

Prioritizing everyone else’s needs over your own, because you feel like saying “no” makes you selfish, resulting in you giving up your own time until you’re completely drained and depleted.

Trying to “do it all” instead of prioritizing what actually matters.

Scattering your energy across many things, losing sight of the bigger picture such as feeling empowered in your family life, excelling in your career, and building a body you’re proud of.

If this sounds familiar you have a misalignment between your priorities, boundaries, and self-care.

Meaning you’re spending your time and energy in the wrong way, rather on what truly matters to you and your priorities.

Luckily, there are four shifts you can make to solve this deeper issue so can feel less overwhelmed, gain clarity on how you should actually spend your time and energy, and regain control of your life.

Here they are…

The Actionable Shifts…

  1. Reframe your mindset about self-care

Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential for showing up as your best self!

When you’re strong, energized, and confident, you become your most capable self so you can thrive in your family responsibilities, career, and goals!

  1. Focus on simple, impactful, actions

You do not need to overhaul your life and add to your already packed schedule, I get you’re busy enough. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym.

So instead, focus on consistent actions that are small and intentional, that will compound over time.

  1. Set clear boundaries

It’s okay to say “no” to things that don’t serve your goals and priorities, and that drain your energy. It creates space, time, and energy for you to focus on what truly matters to YOU!

  1. Have support and accountability

You don’t have to do it alone, surround yourself with people you understand your goals, unique lifestyle, and ability. I’m here if you need me.

It’s time to take action

The real problem isn’t your lack of energy or motivation, and it certainly isn’t your lack of time. It’s the way you’re trying to solve these symptoms without addressing their root cause.

So, implement these shifts into your life and start creating real change for yourself, your career, and your family.

Once you solve the real, deeper issue, the strong, energized, confident version of you becomes extremely achievable, and you become capable of creating a life you love where you constantly feel amazing!
