It’s so common for women over 40 to tie exercise and fitness to one thing…
Burning calories and losing weight, we’ve been conditioned to think that the more we work, sweat, and burn, the closer we get to living life to the fullest, and achieving our “dream body”.
But this may be doing more harm than good, let me explain…
There’s a huge difference between working out to burn calories & lose weight, (which is what most fitness coaches are teaching) and working out to build strength and energy (which is what I’m teaching)!
I’ve found from coaching my clients, and also from my own fitness journey, that working out for strength, energy, and confidence is a much more empowering and fulfilling approach.
I recommend that if you’re a busy woman over 40 you switch your approach to fitness, especially if you want to achieve a body that you’re proud of.
Let’s break down the differences between the two…
Exercising to Burn Calories & Lose Weight
For the woman whose primary goal is to burn calories and lose weight, your workouts are often intense, and long.
Not to mention having the fixation of numbers, and the number of calories you burnt, or if the scale has gone down.
But the truth is, with this approach, you’ll be focusing on the wrong metrics, you’re missing the bigger picture of how your body is truly improving.
Having this approach is solely focusing on weight, not how strong or capable you’re becoming, not only in fitness but as a woman. Which is what we’re really aiming to achieve here, right?
On top of that, over time trying to burn more and more calories will eventually feel like an uphill battle, and this approach isn’t designed to fit into a busy life full of taking care of your family, career pursuits, and other responsibilities!
But the good news is, there’s a much better approach…
Exercising for Strength, Energy & Confidence
By shifting your focus to strength and energy, you’re becoming more capable as a woman, allowing yourself to come closer to living life to the fullest!
I teach my clients to workout to build a body that is not only they’re proud of, but also one which feels strong, energetic, and can handle life's challenges as a busy woman over 40.
I and my client's approach is to build a body capable and a life that feels effortless and amazing because of it.
Because here’s the thing.
Once you become stronger and more energetic and over time, you’ll notice how you feel about yourself, you’ll feel more capable, powerful, and empowered.
Which will actually naturally boost your confidence in every area of your life that you need it most as a busy woman over 40.
This is why I’m such a big advocate for this approach.
Imagine This…
You finish a workout and instead of feeling worn out, you feel recharged, and ready to take off the rest of your day.
You can feel your body getting stronger and capable of handling challenges, you have the energy to manage work, responsibilities.
PLUS, you still have time to spend time with your family.
Conclusion
It’s time for you to make the shift.
Let’s focus on more of an empowering approach, and dedicate to building strength and energy, not exercising to burn calories or lose weight.
Because that isn’t what working out should be tied to, regardless of what you’ve been conditioned to believe or learned.
